PEOPLE ORGANIZED TO WELCOME REFUGEES
(POWR) TEAM

"In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:35) One of our Lord's most prominent calls is to help the afflicted. Those fleeing violence and oppression are some of today's most afflicted people. Pope Francis tells us "Our shared response may be articulated by four verbs: to welcome, to protect, to promote and to integrate" refugees. In response, a POWR team is forming in the Upper Cape area to support refugees resettling in our community, and St. Margaret's is pledged to help any way we can. The team is a volunteer-led effort to meet a range of resettlement needs such as help them find their own housing, transportation, English language learning, and acculturation. If you are interested in participating, please call: Fr. Tom (508.759.7777) or email: ([email protected]).

WHAT DOES YOUR PARISH MEAN TO YOU?

Has your child been Baptized here? Received First Holy Communion? Received Confirmation? If so, your parish is very special to you.

Would you be willing to give one hour a week? every two weeks? once a month? to continue to guide your family further along in their faith journey? An hour is not a lot of time, but it can help in so many ways. You may be interested in serving as an aide to your child’s Faith Formation Teacher from time to time. Would you be interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister, and having the honor of bringing Holy Communion once a month, to someone in a Nursing Home or home bound? Maybe serve Holy Communion at Mass? We could also use your help in serving as Reader at Mass. An hour is not a lot of time, but it can help tremendously.
Again - - - What does your parish mean to you?
Do you want to see your children get married here? Have your grandchildren receive their Sacraments here?
Please call: Kathy at the Rectory Office (508.759.7777) if you want to help YOUR parish in some small way. Just an hour can make a big difference!
