THE SAMARITANS
ON CAPE COD

For 40 years, the important work of the Samaritans on Cape Cod and the Islands has been done by over 900 volunteers-ordinary people-just like you. If you have been thinking about volunteering, now is the time. We need you! We are embarking on a new program, A Caring Connection, which is designed to provide emotional support and follow-up to adults who have attempted suicide or experienced a suicidal crisis after discharge from a medical or behavioral health facility. Volunteers act as coaches and maintain contact via phone only with individuals, who have opted in for help. To volunteer, please call: [508.548.7999] or email: [[email protected]].

RCIA: ARE YOU SOMEONE OR
DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO...

  • - Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic?
  • - Has a child over the age of seven who has not been baptized?
  • - Was baptized Catholic as a child, but never received the sacrament of Confirmation?

We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. You are welcome to participate in the process with your questions, your insights and your faith story in a warm accepting setting. For more information, email: [[email protected]].

WHAT DOES YOUR PARISH MEAN TO YOU?

Has your child been Baptized here? Received First Holy Communion? Received Confirmation? If so, your parish is very special to you.

Would you be willing to give one hour a week? every two weeks? once a month? to continue to guide your family further along in their faith journey? An hour is not a lot of time, but it can help in so many ways. You may be interested in serving as an aide to your child’s Faith Formation Teacher from time to time. Would you be interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister, and having the honor of bringing Holy Communion once a month, to someone in a Nursing Home or home bound? Maybe serve Holy Communion at Mass? We could also use your help in serving as Reader at Mass. An hour is not a lot of time, but it can help tremendously.
Again - - - What does your parish mean to you?
Do you want to see your children get married here? Have your grandchildren receive their Sacraments here?
Please call the Rectory Office (508.759.7777) if you want to help YOUR parish in some small way. Just an hour can make a big difference!

The St. Vincent de Paul thanks you for your generous donations. Because of your generosity, we were able to provide for children through our sponsorship of the Parish Giving Trees. In addition, our Food Pantry distributed non-perishables to numerous clients. We provided additional services such as rooms for the homeless, assistance for heating bills, clothing, furniture and various other requests. We once again, thank you and may God bless you!

St. Vincent de Paul is looking for volunteers!

We are in need of volunteers!!! Do you have an hour a week to possibly put clothing on hangers? Organize dishwear or knickknacks or toys for children or just be there to help customers? If you have said yes to any of the questions, please stop by the Thrift Store and take a look!

What do volunteers do?
